A powerful and talented #Jamaican who hails from Spanish
Town, Jamaica always seeming to be producing exceptional works for local and
international audiences but how much acknowledgment does this man gets in his
own country? His parents named him Craig Kirkland, known by many as “Amaziyah
The Great” a #filmmaker a #poet an #artist #entertainer a photographer just to
name a few, this incredible man is seen as one of Jamaica’s most talented.

name a few, this incredible man is seen as one of Jamaica’s most talented.
Craig grew up in the communities of Featherbed Lane and
Frazer’s Content, Spanish Town where he spent some time reading and doodling
arts when he wasn’t at school, a graduate of Dinthill Technical High School but
due to weak finical strength, he never got the chance to pursue studies at the
Edna Manly College and Performing Arts where he desired to be. As the years
swung swiftly his passion for music and film making grew more.
Frazer’s Content, Spanish Town where he spent some time reading and doodling
arts when he wasn’t at school, a graduate of Dinthill Technical High School but
due to weak finical strength, he never got the chance to pursue studies at the
Edna Manly College and Performing Arts where he desired to be. As the years
swung swiftly his passion for music and film making grew more.
His first track “Ghetto” on his own Great Amazement label, was
done over a decade ago and still seem so current as if it was recently recorded.
Getting airplay is never an easy task for Jamaican artists he explained, it was
really the love of writing lyrics why he continued on that path. “Well this
business is a tough and tricky one” he explained, “If you ain’t got the links,
money and badness it can get rough on you, I not have none of the above but
social media can do quite a lot so we have to just utilize that avenue to get
our arts out there. In my opinion I strongly believe if more radio dj and sound
system operators would take the time out to have a segment in their session or
airtime on their station and at parties where they introduce new artiste music,
Jamaica and the industry would be better because more stars would be emerging
and shining radiantly so they could easier help themselves, families and
friends outta poverty.”

he received his first film award at the Jamaica Reggae Film Festival in
Kingston where he wrote, directed and produced a short film within 24 hours
called “Ghetto Visit”. Year 2013 he received
double awards “Best Script” and “Best
Director” at Northern Caribbean University ‘Lignum Vitae Film Festival’ for a
short dubbed “Stay Firm” Three Canadian awards was presented to Kirkland from
Blaque Dogg Promotions where they have their yearly award show called the
P.E.A.B.O. Awards for acknowledging outstanding Promoters, Entertainers,
Athletes and Business Owners.

found his music he have been receiving quite a massive amount of rotation on

the music future and set a history in this business, more deejays should pay
